I attended Saline area school in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a teaching degree in Physical Education, Home Economics and Business. I taught home economic, physical education and typing at Richards Junior High School in Fraser, Michigan for 9 years. I coached track and field, gymnastics and cheer leading. When I moved to California I taught preschool for 3 year while my children were little. I have been teaching here at Lincoln for the last 29 years. I have taught home economic, physical education and computers and coached cheer leading. I worked on and received the grant to build the Fitness Lab. My objective with this project was to focus on developing a quality standards- based physical education program that will promote life long participation and lead Lincoln students to participate fully in positive physical awareness and activity. I also served as the Governor's Challenge Coordinator, President's Physical Fitness Coordinator and coordinator of the after school sports programs. On a personal note I won many national titles in the Natural Body Building arena. This dedication enabled my students to understand "practice makes perfect" and that you can be a champion at any area of life as long as you dream, work hard and never give up. |

Born and raised here in North County. I Attended Palomar College for my Associates degree, then San Diego State from my Bachelor’s, Majoring in Physical education. I also attended San Diego State for my Teaching Credentials, then Cal. State University San Marcos for my Master’s in Education. Moving and being active is critical to our students and the future of their heath. In middle school our goal is to expose them to as many different activities as possible, in the hopes of them finding at least one area of activity that they can carry on into their adult life’s. We are also, working to incorporate more heath into the curriculum, to help students understand how being active is an important part of their health. |
