Students, the 7th Grade Field Trip to Petco Park is next Tuesday, May 1st.  If you have not yet turned in your permission slip to your science teacher, you have until this Wednesday, April 25th to turn it in. This is the final cut-off for all who are wanting to go. Remember to pay your $17 to the Student Store by then as well.

 

Attention 6th Graders: If you have not turned in your Zoo Permission slip, please get them in as soon as possible to your 1st period teacher.  The final date they will be accepted is Friday.

 

Green Team would like to just express their thanks to the Lincoln community for supporting our Urban Mining events this month in April.  Yesterday we received our totals for our April 7th and 8th and with your support we raised just over $900 for our school!  This money will go to Science supplies as well as things for our campus like a water bottle fill station.  We are still collecting bottles and cans this year to increase that total as well as already planning events for next school year.  Thank you for helping us be so successful.

The 16th annual Creek to Bay clean-up is this Saturday from 9am – 12 noon at Loma Alta Creek to celebrate Earth Day by brightening our community!  A parent or guardian chaperone is required to attend and waivers may be found in the front office. The PASS mentors will be attending and all are welcome.

 

To celebrate Earth Day this weekend, the Green Team is doing another E-Waste and Shredding event for one day only, this Saturday April 21st across the street in Palmquist's parking lot from 9 am to 4 pm. Come and join us and drop off old phones, game systems, stereos, and even vacuums.  All money from this event will be used to help fund the Science Department wish-lists for new labs and projects.  Clean out your cupboards and closets and bring us your old broken stuff! If you have questions, talk to Mr. Gurney or Mrs. Bulicki #LincolnGoesGreen

In regard to the social media reports of student walkouts today:

Our ASB kids are preparing 17 posters, one for each of the Florida victims. The posters include a picture and a brief biography of each person. At 10:00 am today students will be able to leave class, observe each poster, and reflect on each of the 17 people who were killed in Florida. Student participation is voluntary. The event is scheduled to last 17 minutes. We are providing a means for students to respond. We will also post blank posters for students to write their ideas for keeping our campus safe.

 

We do not expect students to walk off campus. Walking off campus is truancy. Any students who are truant will receive a disciplinary consequence.

STUDENTS:

 

Our annual food drive runs until December 7.  We are collecting canned foods for donation to the Salvation Army.  If we all bring in one can, what an impact we can make!  As part of the Oceanside community we want to give back and make sure all families have food to eat, especially during the holidays.  The 3rd period class that brings in the most cans will get to throw pies at the administration. Our annual food drive runs until December 7.  We are collecting canned foods for donation to the Salvation Army.  If we all bring in one can, what an impact we can make!  As part of the Oceanside community we want to give back and make sure all families have food to eat, especially during the holidays.  The 3rd period class that brings in the most cans will get to throw pies at the administration. Panthers, make a difference. Bring in your cans today!
