My life as a military daughter came to an abrupt halt, when at the age of seven, my father, a Captain and pilot in the Marines, tragically died in a plane accident.  My mom sister and I were living in Tustin, California, at the time.  I attended, and graduated from Tustin High school.  After high school, I attended Orange Coast College where I received an AA in Home Economics.  I moved to San Diego County with my first husband, built a close-knit family of two girls and a boy, and worked part time.  I frequently helped in my own kid’s classrooms, discovered the enjoyment of working with children, and felt like teaching would be a good career match for me.  I received my BA and earned my teaching credential at CSUSM.  My first year teaching was here, at Lincoln.  I left for five years to work at CBA, returned home to Lincoln, and have been here ever since.  For the last eleven years, along with my duties as an English, history, humanities teacher, I have taken on the responsibilities of ASB Advisor.  In this aspect of my profession, I have the opportunity to interact with students of all grade levels and interests, which I truly love.

Hiking, traveling, volunteering, and taking care of the environment are my passions. I take any opportunity I can to learn more about cultures that are Pizziadifferent to mine and languages that are foreign to me. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree and a Teaching Credential from CSUSM and have taught most of the grades from prek-9th. I spent 2.5 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in North Macedonia. There I taught English as a Foreign Language and worked with local NGOs to develop youth education programs. My experiences teaching and traveling have taught me patience, humility, and resilience. I’m excited to join the Lincoln family - GO PANTHERS!!

I love being a middle school teacher. Getting to spend time with students at this point in their lives fills is absolutely the best. After graduating from San   Francisco State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education, I decided to continue with school to earn a teaching credential. I taught at a middle school in San Francisco for a couple of years and pursued my Master's Degree in Secondary Education. I moved down to San Diego to be closer to family and have loved every moment of my life back here in Southern California. When I am not at school, I am probably hiking around with my dog or reading. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Lincoln community.

Born and raised in Oceanside and now teaching 7th-grade humanities at Lincoln’s beautiful campus is such a privilege. This is my 16th year of teaching grades from 1-8. Over the years, I have discovered how much I love teaching middle school.  Every day your children make me smile. I am mother of two girls who attend Palmquist. When I am not teaching you can find our family traveling, at the beach, or with family and friends.  I am really looking forward to this year, getting to know your children and to work with families together to support all children in all of their needs.

Aliya farah

Hello.  My name is Ali Farah, and I am delighted to be teaching 7th grade English and history at Lincoln Middle School.  I come from a family of educators.  My mother was an elementary school teacher, and my father was a professor at UCLA.  I grew up in the Central Valley and moved to San Diego after finishing college.  I have a six-year-old daughter who is the light of my life.  We enjoy hikes, beach days, Disneyland, and traveling.  There are two quotes that I love pertaining to my career.  These are, "The best part about teaching is that it matters." - Unknown, and "Teaching isn't a job; it's an adventure!"  - Unknown.  I'm looking forward to a wonderful year of learning with your students.

Hi! My name is Caitlin Dinh and I am excited to be teaching Language Arts and Social Studies at Lincoln. I was born and raised in Hawaii and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After graduating, I moved to San Diego and later completed the Middle Level Education Program at Cal State San Marcos. My favorite part about working with middle schoolers is the fun and energy they bring to everything! When I am not in school, I love to swim, paddleboard, hike, and read with my husband and our 2 year old beagle/chihuahua mix. Though I miss Hawaii, I love the people, activities, and environment of San Diego and am fortunate to live here. I am looking forward to a year full of growth with you all!
